What’s more exciting than being pregnant? Being pregnant at the same time as your BFF! Yep, that’s right. Both me and my super adorable friend Jenn Nichols are expecting baby girls this year! Yay yay yay! Jenn is due next month and I’m due in July, so expect to see lots of baby photos on the blog soon
In the meantime … belly photos! And when it comes to bellies, it doesn’t get much cuter than this …

Jenn, CJ and Maggie … I love you guys so much! Thanks for always letting me document your adorable-ness and thanks for being such great friends. I can’t wait to meet your new baby girl!
XOXO, Sarah Q
(As promised, a new blog is coming soon! Life needs to just slow down for a few minutes first
)
Dear Roxy,
You are beautiful. And smart. And sweet. And sooooo determined. You, my baby girl, really will be a rock star one day, just like you tell me. I have no doubt about it. There’s absolutely nothing you can’t do and I’m so looking forward to watching you grow up. Happy birthday, five year old Roxy!
XOXOXO, Mama

Check out those rad new Sketchers!

Some fun photos from Roxy’s birthday party photo booth (And thanks to my good friends Jenn and CJ Nichols for helping me take some of these!)

Okay, back to regular photos for a minute. I didn’t take very many! It’s hard to host a party, chase kids and take pictures! Anyway, check out Roxy’s “boyfriend” Dan, popping out of nowhere to blow out her candles! SO CUTE! And look at those AMAAAAAAZING cupcakes my friend Nichole brought from her awesome cupcake shop, Cupcake Couture! Thanks Nichole!!!

Okay, these aren’t from the party, but I had to include them. I set up the booth the Friday night before Roxy’s party to see how it was going to fit in the living room. To test out the lighting and stuff, I asked Rox and Kai to come over and take some pictures for me. It was late and they were being SUPER silly. Kai was being particularly HILARIOUS and was doing the most adorable mad faces. I love these! (Oh, and you’ll notice there were a lot more streamers and stuff on Friday night. Yeah. The cats decided to attack the booth that night while we were sleeping and when we came down the next morning it was all in a big pile on the floor. Soooo, instead of detangling the mess of fabric, I decided to simplify it! Ha! Oh, well. I love the way it ended up looking!)

JUMPING CONTEST!

Almost
So, stay tuned. 2010 is going to be a fun year around here.
For now, some photos of my all-time favorite subjects. Roxy and Kai, the loves of my life …

I love everything about this couple. I love how quiet and sweet and soft spoken they are. I love the way they look at each other and smile without me having to say “look at each other and smile!” Couples like Heather and Reid make me genuinely love my job. Thanks you two, for letting us be part of your beautiful perfect day
XOXO

Roxy and Kai have a big pink box in their room. It’s the “Costume Box” and is so jam packed full of costumes and dress up stuff that it won’t close anymore. There’s at least 3 or 4 princess costumes, a firefighter, policeman, doctor, a girl pirate and a boy pirate, cowboy, Superman, SuperGirl, Batman, Batgirl and a Wonder Woman costume. I’m pretty sure there’s a monkey costume in there somewhere, too and a couple of really ridiculous pink and purple wigs, hats, sunglasses, feather boas, plastic high heels and big chunky jewelry. Let’s just say they had PLENTY of options for Halloween this year. So what did they want to be? A black cat and a mummy. Great. Probably the ONLY two things not already in the box. And, of course, they decided to be a black cat and mummy AFTER all the stores had sold 99% of their costumes.
So, we DIY’d it
I made Roxy’s cat ears out of a headband and blue duct tape (classy, huh?!) and Henry drew her whiskers and nose on with a ball point pen. She has a tail (and it’s actually really cute) but of course you can’t see it in the picture. The black and blue tutu was made by my sister Jessie, even though I told Roxy black cats don’t usually have big poofy blue bellies. She said “Well then, I’m not a black cat. I’m a black and blue cat.”
As thrown-together as it was, she actually pulled it off and looked pretty darn cute. And she had a great time. And, of course, that’s all that matters, anyway
Kai’s costume is made out of about $20 worth of gauze wrap and a $3 piece of Halloween decor ripped up fabric (the kind you’re supposed to hang outside!) We pretty much just wrapped and wrapped and wrapped until he was the WORLD’S MOST ADORABLE MUMMY EVER! Seriously, he could not have looked cuter. And he did the best little “Mummy Face.” Ahhhh, I love my boy. He had a great time, too.
So, here they are, my goofy little trick or treaters. Oh, how I love my Rox and Kai

(mummy face!)

Hope everybody had a great Halloween! I’m going to try and catch up on my wedding blogging this week, so check back soon!
XOXO, Sarah Q

KD and Ryan are such a fun couple! Check out some of my faves from their engagement session last week …
A tiny bit of city …

And then a whole bunch of outdoorsy …

Remember this tree?! I took some of my favorite pictures in this spot back in 2007! It’s kinda fun to re-create!

See you guys next month!!
XOXO, Sarah Q
If you ask Roxy what she’s going to be when she grows up, you’ll either hear “Artist” or “Rock Star.” I’m down for either of those, but I’m particularly fond of the second one. With her confident, strong personality and awesome sense of style, how could she NOT become a rock star?!
(Brand new guitar from Daisy Rock! Check ‘em out if you have a little girl. They have some AWESOME stuff for tiny rock stars!)

Roxy is my rambunctious, talkative, artistic and hilarious, bossy but sweet four year old. Maggie is my BFF Jenn’s silly, happy, adorable (almost) five year old. They’ve been best friends since they were little bitty and I’ve been wanting to do an “official” photo shoot of them for a while now. Today Maggs came over to play so I snatched ‘em up and snuck ‘em outside to do a few pictures of just the two of them. Kai was a little bummed that he couldn’t come (especially since he tells me all the time that he’s going to marry Maggie) but I really wanted some of just the girls. We didn’t have much time before sunset, but I LOVE what we did get! Here are a few of my faves …
(I know it’s an annoying mom thing to say, but I just can NOT believe how grown up they look in this picture!)

Maggie Mae!

Yep, they’re pretty cool.

LOVE this one. This will sooooo be in a frame in my house by the end of the week.

Roxy, always being a rock star …

HELLLOOOOOO adorable freckle face!!

Yeah, so Rox might have a slight attitude sometimes
